Who we are…
KidConfident: Building Confidence for Providing Paediatric Emergency Care
Research has identified a broad difference in paediatric training, knowledge, experience & confidence amongst paramedics across the UK.
KidConfident provides an overview of available learning resources, and an archive of the posters requested by Paramedics in the stations where the posters are displayed.
It can be daunting to be faced with having to manage a paediatric emergency - especially if not a paediatric specialist!
Paramedics are not immune to this and their knowledge, training opportunities & exposure to paediatric medicine varies enormously across the UK.
The KidConfident team comprises of Paramedics, Paediatricians, Paramedicine educators and a HEMS doctor/anaesthetist with a specialist interest in paediatric care - both in and outside of the hospital.
KidConfident.org provides a mechanism for paramedics to request learning topics, by simply tapping their smart phone on the KidConfident poster displayed in their station. Educational posters are created depending on the most popular topics, and then displayed on station & online (here). Along with a directory of the very best learning resources out there - it should have something to cover everything! All our resources are peer-reviewed and checked against UK guidelines including NICE and JRCALC, to give you the confidence you need when managing sick children.
